I haven’t had too much time to play with it but so far so good. They’re a few things that I read about in some reviews that I was concerned about. I’m glad to say that my unit doesn’t seem to be affected.

The first thing that I had a concern about was chassis flex. One of the reviewers said that he could activate the touch-pad mouse buttons by pressing on the surrounding area. My unit is as solid as a rock. I tried to do it but after using almost all of my hand strength, I couldn’t get the mouse buttons to activate. So far, so good.

The other concern was fan noise. I had the unit on now for about 2hrs with the “turbo” button on and the machine is virtually silent. That’s a sharp contradiction from what I’ve read. You do have CD-Rom noise when they’re spinning, but I’ve yet to hear the hard-drive and the only way that I can hear the fans is to put my ear about 6” away from the keyboard. So far so good again. :)

The only issue that I’m having is getting the wireless modem and web-cam to work. I think that’s more the fault of having a standard version of Windows Vista installed versus the MSI OEM Vista install DVD. I’ll figure it I guess but if anyone has any suggestions let me know.

I’ve yet to do any gaming or benchmarks yet but from what I see so far, I should be more than happy.

Oh yeah… This thing is a fingerprint magnet!

There are two soft keys, one turns the wireless on and the other turns the webcam on. Both are to the left of the turbo button.

Congrats on getting the new laptop. You're going to have a lot of fun with it. I'm still saving up some money so I can get my gx600 pre-configured to my specifications.

If you have the time or the chance, would you mind putting up photos of your new GX600? I'm so happy for you!!!

The build quality is great. I'm not sure why folks are saying that the build quality is lacking?

I'll try to put something together this weekend. My writing and grammer skills suck but I'll have my daughter proof-read it for me. Mainly I'll just put together some benchmarks and general impressions.

I got mine today! Really happy with the product! No flexes either, feels robust and although it is a fingerprint magnet, I really like the finish. Mine is the T7500 2.2ghz overclocks to 2.6ghz :)

I thought that I'd be able to put together a short review but I really need time with the unit. I'm finding out stuff about it every day. Give me a week or so.

this all sounds good, i've been having my eyes on this laptop for a while so i'm only happy to hear all of these good things about it. question though, how does it run COD4? (if you have the game)
