Hey all.
I just got my GT627 218 unboxed and ready to setup. I'm wondering the order of operations though. I plan to borrow a friends Vista 64 disc (legal copy) and try to use my COA number to install with. So do I put the 64 disc in before I do anything else? Like first time start up/ turn the machine on? Also if it doesn't work can I still use and burn my 32 bit from the HDD? heck even if it does work can I still burn it for later use if needed? Also there seems to be a drivers utilities manual CD, do I need that to actually install anything? Sorry for all the question but I want to make sure I set her up right the first time. Or I could try to install and run the new RC of windows 7??? Any input on that? I assumed I'd upgrade to 7 eventually anyways so if it runs well now then thats another option I have to play with.
Thanks for your help!! Oh and it is SO beautiful in person!! WOW!!![]()

I would suggest turning it on, and copying a lot of the programs/utilities/drivers that you might need. You wouldn't want to scavenger hunt across the web for drivers and software when you install vista 64 bit. because once you install vista 64 bit, you barely have any icons on your desktop and only around 30 processes running so its going to be pretty bare. im pretty sure the msi has near 40 or 50 running already.

Well I'm currently running windows 7 RC from a fresh install. I'll edit post later after I run some benchmark tests. So far so good.

Mine is supposed to arrive tomorrow and I too plan to run Win7 RC1 64-bit.
Can you please provide links for any/all Win7 drivers you had to use? I'm particularly concerned about the MSI-specific touch-controls, audio, and overclocking functions that are built into the laptop. MSI only offers 32-bit Vista drivers on their site...
Any links or guidance on Windows7 RC1 64-bit drivers would rock! -
Just got GT627, Initial Start Up Qs.
