Well, I am now a proud buyer of the new GT735! Can't pass up the $100.00 rebate and $799.99 price tag @newegg.com. 12 months no interest with newegg card too. WOW!!! Good deal!!! :) Just have some ???? for anyone on this fourm. What's the maxx CPU and GPU I can go up too. This laptop is for my son. I was looking at the MSI EX-625 for a long time until everyone ran out of stock. The only thing I really want is the 4000 series card but I can settle for 3800's. My son will be playing FPS games, such as Crysis, Bio Shock, COD4/5 and Far Cry 2. Would it hold up well with stock specs. If one day I want to maxx this machine out would I be able to go say 4870 GPU and like The latest AMD CPU? What's the difference between the AMD Athlon 64 x2 / Turion X2 and Ultra? I'm not an AMD guy so this is my first! Any info pls help thanks all and I know my son will love this computer!

Its will play all those games you mentioned on high except crysis.. The 3850 is a good card. You could put a 4850 in it but good luck finding one..

That system is pretty much CPU limited anyway, but it should work for those games. You couldn't upgrade the CPU much, because there just isn't an AMD available that's much better and when there is, it will be a different socket.

Your joking arent you? 2.2 is enough for near enough all games except GTA, and it will most likely have OC features, and if im correct AMD set some of the world records for overclocking.

AMD also have technology planned :) so look out!

I was thinking about getting this laptop today, what's everyones opinion on this laptop? I can't decide whether or not I should get it. The store I'll be buying it from only has it with 2GB RAM, but 30$ extra for another 2GB card isn't much to worry about.

    Thanks, GoldenDrago.

In notebooks, 99% of the time, you are limited to the GPU that's in the notebook originally. Very few notebooks are GPU upgradable. As for the CPU, your CPU is AMD's 3rd best CPU. Only the ZM-86 is better, and by a mere .2ghz. Your computer should handle most of those games on high settings (except for Crysis) without any problems.

Hopefully this will help you understand AMD's marketing scheme:

    Athlon 64 x2 - Entry Level processors
Turion 64 x2 - Middle of the road processor line-up
Turion 64 Ultra x2 - AMD's high-end processors (There really isn't a big difference between Ultra and normal Turion x2 processors, except that Ultra's run slightly faster, but produce more heat. It's more a marketing tactic).

Note: this is a comparison between AMD processors and not against Intels.

I just ordered it from newegg a few hrs ago. Funny thing is, in the past 20 minutes newegg raised their price by $100, and the rebate is no longer available (had to be purchased before the date change to get it). So now I'm really happy that i pulled the trigger on it when i did. :D

it's great so far, a little heavy but that's to be expected. The fan on the right side is annoying, the hot air was hitting my mouse hand. The sound is a little crackly (sounds like the hardware not the drivers)

aside from those things, the game performance is amazing, it feels great. The screen is beautiful. it's very quiet. I love it.
