    Very well packaged, too, I must say. I opened the outer boxes and removed the ninja-black box to make sure the laptop was inside (it was), then put it back in the box. Haven't even powered it up.

    @Phoenix, even though this PC has received a clean Windows install from HIDevolution, I would very much appreciate your (hands-on remote?) help, whenever it is convenient, to remove whatever else in bloatware you have learned can get missed following a clean install.

    I live in New York (not sure of your time zone), and I'm generally online between 5:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. EST; I'd make myself available on any day and at any time within those ten hours. And I know you deal with dozens of calls asking for this kind of help, so I'm not going to be a nuisance about this.

    I'm not sure if there's anything else I need to do beyond leaving this e-mail, so I'll wait till I hear from you or one of the other experts on this forum!

    @Phoenix, thank you in advance!

    Best, Sona

    I think Today is a holiday in Dubai and he might help you tweak the system tomorrow or day after tomorrow.

    Thank you, @Vasudev--I was amazingly fortunate: Phoenix contacted me within a few hours of my post here, then worked on my laptop (remotely) with a single-minded sense of purpose for longer than I ever would have anticipated.
    I felt...well, I don't even know how to describe what it was like to watch as someone with so much knowledge labored carefully and conscientiously over my new machine to streamline it in every way possible. And it's not even a gaming laptop (I mean in power, speed, and storage)--I'm not a gamer!

    There is a thread somewhere on this forum--I tried to find it a few hours ago and could not--for all those who have been helped by Phoenix to be able to offer their thanks. I wanted very much to add my voice to theirs. I'll find it again, somehow. I read through so many threads when I'm on this forum that I get lost, forget where I am. :rolleyes:

    Anyway, I've begun to port over my work files, slowly, and will have to familiarize myself over time with the way my new laptop operates. I'm looking forward to that.
