About two months ago my machine randomly turned itself off, not shutdown... just completely off like a desktop in a power outage.
Again it happened a month later, then last week and now just a few minutes ago.

I really have no clue what may be causing this seeing as the machine has been idle whenever it happened.
I know it isn't much to go by to try diagnose this issue, but it's all I have too.

I've been thinking that it might be a power brick issue or a house voltage issue, but I've no way to prove it. Anyone else that experienced this have any ideas?

So long as the machine is not loaded the battery should be fine to just kick in if the brick was misbehaving. Nothing is immediately jumping to mind except a weird ec reading or short.

That was my thought exactly; that the battery should take over if something odd happened with the PSU. If it continues to happen I really have no idea how to find out what is causing it to randomly shut off like that or what I should do about it. Any ideas on that?
