Well I've about got the issues stomped down and working right except for 1 last one.. What does System Control Manager do? I've tried running it with admin rights, regular user... It starts doing something on the hard disc for a few seconds like it is loading, then... nothing. Tried rebooting, etc. Same result.

Just curious if any other 640 owner has gotten it to run..

nothing actually pops up, just makes sure all your touch panel buttons work, and by right-clicking on the icon in the notification area u can change the user-defined key

ok so I see the icon now, just right click gives me 'about' and 'exit'. I feel kinda dumb I guess, since it was in the programs menu I presumed it was a config interface.

    thanks.

Mine works fine. It sometimes shows an icon in the control panel (though mine doesn't right now), but the purpose SCM serves is OSD and mode switching.

If SCM is off, adjusting the volume with Fn+F7/F8 will not show an icon, and the Eco modes and "Cinema Pro" (makes the volume louder and adjusts screen brightness up) will not work, and nor will the "P1" touch sensor.

Everything except for Eco, Cinema Pro and P1 will work without SCM on, but you won't see the on-screen display icons without it.
