Is a Macbook Pro 13.3" worth buying at $1800? I don't doubt the Macbook's build quality, but I can't speak for its performance in something like League of Legends (especially since the best it offers is a 750M). For your other uses you listed, either laptop is more than capable, though the Ghost is considerably more capable.

The first thing I would suggest is you contact all of the resellers that frequent these MSI forums and talk about price and customizing the hardware to suit your needs.

Do you need the 1 TB traditional hard drive?

Is the 128GB M.2 SSD size too small after formatting overprovisioning and installing your games and programs?

Access to the M.2 SSD slots in the GS60 requires removal of the mainboad so if you deside on this model after talking to all the customizing resellers(GenTech,Power Notebooks,Xotic,Prostar) my advice would be to have the GS60 customized to at least a 256GB or larger SSD and if you don't need the spinner have it removed and get a better price without it.

The choice of an SSD should be one that has good consistency and very good 4K reads and writes because that's where 80% of daily disk access is;the small files.

IMO Raid setups are not needed by most notebook owners so I also suggest you don't opt for it.

GS60 models have M.2 form factor 802.11ac wireless cards that will require a good AC router to take advantage of the high link speed offered on the 5ghz band.

Amazon and Newegg are good for some items but for notebooks I really suggest you buy it customized and setup and then have a pro to talk to if you run into issues you can't solve yourself.

I buy a lot from Amazon but my notebooks I buy from GenTech

One thing is for sure though, if your game lags on the MSi, you'll never wonder if your specs aren't good enough.

Just know that if you buy the MSi, every single dollar is going towards hardware specifications.

For your uses/needs definetly not worth it unless you are very rich and money is not an issue.
Don't get me wrong it's an amazing laptop but mostly for gamers who want a very good GPU to play almost every game on high settings not 1 particular game that's not very graphically demanding.
I would look at the upcoming GE62 that will probably be cheaper but still have a good GPU.
