    Hi,
Could some one help me with purchase of MSI GS60 GHOST PRO -064
Iwould like to keep total price with in 2000$ and have 3 options to configure.

    1. From Xoticpc - 2027$
    UPGRADES:
    >7 samurai's pic and my name laser etched on back of lcd panel (would like to keep it unique from other laptops but not compulsary), +80$
    >IC diamond, +16$
    >RAID 0 2x128 gb adata m.2 ssd wrt spd - 550mbps and read speed - 530mpbs, +200$
    >1tb hdd removed (would add in future) (available with only exotic pc) -60$
    CONS:
    >Stock ram as RAM upgrade is very expensive
    >Cannt have 1tb HDD
    >high price than all other options

    2. From Pro-star - 1990$
    UPGRADES:
    > Kingston HyperX 1600mhz CL9 ram + 35$
    >IC diamond, +0$
    >RAID 0 2x128 gb Micron M600 m.2 ssd wrt spd - 560mbps and read speed - 400 mpbs, +148$
    CONS:
    >Cannot have laser etching

    3. From Ibuypower - 1905$
    UPGRADES THROUGH OPTIBOOST OPTION:
    > Crosair Vengance 1833mhz CL10 ram
    >RAID 0 2x128 gb PLEXTOR/ADATA m.2 ssd wrt spd - 520mbps(apx) and read speed - 350mpbs (apx) ,
    CONS:
    >Cannot have laser etching
    >Cannot have IC Diamond thermal compound

Upgrades are against stock ram ADATA 1600 mhz CL11 and SSD Kingston write speed -500 mpbs and read speed - 350mps and Stock Thermal Compound

I am soo confused on what to buy.

So, can some one please help with your views on how much increase in performance can I see or is it worth with ram upgrade from 1833 mhz CL10 vs 1600 mhz CL9 vs 1600 mhz CL11 and SSD upgrades

    Thank you

I'd say higher frequency RAM is not worth it. You will not really benefit from it at all.

As for upgrading SSDs from stock, only do so if you need the extra space or speed. Otherwise the combo of stock SSD+HDD works well for fast booting/work and a nice amount of space.

@ryzeki thank you for replying and in what conditions does people usually upgrade ssd's for extra speed. I am buying this for gaming and normal use. So will an increase of 100mbps write speed and read speed (500 vs 550 mpbs write and 350 vs 450 read speed) give a good or identifiable improvement over boot times, application load times and transfer speeds?

I seriously doubt you will see any improvement on normal usage or booting going with more SSDs. Even a single SSD makes a huge difference on its own. People only upgrade SSDs to have faster speeds, specially if you do a lot of drive intensive tasks. Personally, I would upgrade SSDs for space rather than speed.

It's definitely a feelable difference when you switched from HDD to SSD but anything above 300MB/s is hardly noticeable.
But as you start to fill up the storage then SSD slows down, and this is when 500+MB/s is needed, sort of like bandwidth which reduces over time.

Thank you @ryzeki and @Kevin@GentecPC for replies. I think I can stick with stock components according to my usage
