Did you update your vbios, and if so why?

    @meraki1990
Do you think, a GX740-BIOS can also be used on the Medion X7811?
I'm confused about the chipset difference (PM55<>HM55)

Current BIOS on X7811 is: E1727IM7.107
    EC: 1727EM71.402

We've just found out, that idle temps of Cores and THRM are rising at about 5°C, if an usb device is plugged in. Is this normal behaviour?

    Thx

    Powerplay issues :D

Dunno but after I acquired the vBIOS via RBE and winflash,

the clocks that were present were starkly different from the beta vBIOS.

Apparently, the new vBIOS has a more planned algorithm that helps save battery but prevent the card from crashing from too low clocks.

The clocks of the new vBIOS were more intricate and had a more variety of combinations, and in all situations(Plugged in, High performance, etc. combinations) the card fully functioned without failing to wake up or anything.

And I call myself a beta fan, love to test things out,

so I went for it and I think it was a great move :D

Hmm.. who is this "WE" you mention.. I'd like to get along with GX740 users.. haha..

    anyways,

mine do not experience such a problem.

Which USB device are you talking about?

Mine does not spike when plugging in my NC2000 cooler, or my USB mouse.

    OK, I found out. :D
We just discussing this at notebookjounal forum.

    Without any USB devices:
fan at level 1 > silent
    [IMG]

With USB mouse or usb stick:
fan at level 2 > louder
    [IMG]

    Weird, or?
My thought is, that the cpu could not go into C3-State while usb device are plugged in.

Wait, so you put in a 880GB HDD?

Do these machines take 12.5mm height 2.5" HDDs as well?

    Then I can put a 1TB HDD??!
