So I have an old lenovo Y570 that had no problems connecting to the internet. Now, I just got a new MSI ghost pro and it has a lot lower internet speed constantly. I at the same location, but the speed is completely different. My lenovo gets 10-14 mbps on average. but my MSI gets .1-6 mbps constantly. I have no idea why...is there a problem with my computer or internet? I own a trendnet tew-812dru. (using wi fi) Please help!

You can check your power options to make sure the wireless adapter is set on maximum performance. Check it for on battery and plugged in.

There are several reports of wifi issues with the GS60 over on the 300+ pages of the GS60 thread, but most of them are reports of lag spikes while gaming, not constant low speeds. I would suggest the folowing:

    1) Update the drivers and check again. This solved the issue for some people.
    2) Move the laptops closer to your router and check the speeds again. If this solves the issue, it might just be that there is a lot of noise/interference in the room where you are using the laptop. Either move your router closer to the laptop, get a high gain antenna for the router ou a wireless repeater.
    3) If you are using a 2.54GHz b/g/n router, either try changing the frequency to 5GHz, or to the newer wireless ac standard. Changing to ac solved most of the problems reported on the GS60 thread, but does involve buying a new router...

Hope this helps. If you still have problems, head on over to the GS60 thread and see if someone can help you there.

Thanks for the response. I managed to fix the constant low speeds problem by adding a rule that gives my GS60 higher priority, however, I do have the lag spikes in game problems that other owners seem to have. I tried #1, but its already updated, #2 helped a little but, but the spikes were still there. And for #3, although I have a router capable of AC, I don't know how to set it up. All I have are 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz. (I have a trendnet AC1750 Dualband Wireless router TEW-812DRU)

Having the same issue as well, all my other laptops have fine connection. After getting this 3 days ago just to realise it has a wifi issue which have really put me off. Without proper connection the laptop is practically useless. Anyway do you get disconnected frequently? and how did you add the rule to give the gs60 higher priority?

I do not get disconnected frequently, but it happens occasionally. I added the rule by going to my router settings and adding priority to my computer's IP address.
