I'm expecting a 1029 barebones, proc, hdd, RAM and Wifi/bluetooth combo by Monday; will build the computer myself. The reason I did this is because I couldn't legally import the whole computer due to restrictions in my country.

Now, I know there are a couple of guides out there, but I was wondering if you guys were interested in an illustrated guide written by a newbie at computer assembling. If so, what Pictures/topics would be of more interest to you?

I think that would be great. A lot of people want to know how hard or easy it is to do this on their own, you're about to find out!

There are a few guides for setting this up. I just built mine too so it's pretty straightforward. However the part that gave me the most trouble was figuring out which wire went where for the WiFi/BT antennas. Took a little trial and error.

Might want to get some good shots of that step.

Your experience may differ from mine, but here is the best description I can give from my build:

One the white wires was shorter: This was the BT

The long black and white wires go on the WiFi side (they were marked on my card). I tried a couple configurations before it worked.

Oh and remember to hit the wifi button above the INS key ;)

Ok, One week with the computer an first major problem arised. It seems that I misinstalled the heatsink/thermal paste. Running 3dmark 03 the computer shut off.

I reopened it and noticed that while the CPU part of the heatsink had traces of arctic silver, the GPU part was clean, probably meaning that I didn't use enough there. I cleaned up both and reapplied; let it warm up for a day and then re-ran 3dmark03. Aside from getting what I beieve is a low score (5564), the test was completed without problems.

I was expecting a tad more, something like 5700; however, I also was expecting some 2200 in 3dmark05, and I scored 2402.
