    Hello All,

I just recently got the MSI EX 625-227US which came with Vista 32-bit. I've repartitioned the hard-drive and am trying to install XP Pro (32-bit or 64-bit). I get a BSOD after the drivers are loaded from the CD with a STOP error indicating that I may need to run chkdsk on my hard disk. I know the hard disk is fine since Vista runs without problems.

I noticed on other threads that people have been able to install XP on this. I would appreciate any tips or special steps to be taken to get the install to work.

    Thanks!

After several hours of searching yesterday night, I found that solution too. However I am not sure what I will be giving up if I do that. I'm assuming I'll have to reinstall Vista since the old install would be expecting AHCI.

I also found another possible solution - slipstream the Intel drivers during the XP installation. That will make sure the XP install can see the hard drives even with AHCI. I'm going to try that later today....

there are actually some ways to enable AHCI support in XP if it was installed on a IDE disk so u won't need to reinstall.. but yeah quickest way is to slipstream it
