So, I recently RMA'd my laptop to have the factory repartition added back and I've been trying to upgrade to Windows 1903, as it's being offered to my Laptop, but I keep getting a BSOD each time it tries to install (Bad Pool Header) so one of the suggestions was to update the BIOS. I go to check my BIOS version and I don't recognize it at all. When I shipped it off I was using the current BIOS version E17A2IMS.10F), but now it's showing that I have version (American Megatrends Inc. E17A2IMS.110) installed, which was released on 9/03/2018. I have scoured the internet looking for any information about the latter BIOS version and nothing pops up at all. Funny thing is that this BIOS version was released on a later date than the BIOS version that I had downloaded and installed months before shipping my laptop off for the RMA. Anyone have any idea as to what's going on here? There's seriously nothing online regarding E17A2IMS.100. Weird.

    Thanks,
    MIke

Bios flash backwards and forwards is fine.
Just update your bios from the device manager if your worried.
I think the .110 is the repair install version of .10F

It's best to go with the latest and greatest. Also, please refer to the FAQ on your machine's model# to find out if there's any special memo provided. Can you also provide the screenshot of your BIOS version so we can review it for you? Thank you.

Right now it lists "System Firmware" under Firmware within the Device Manager. Is there any added benefit of letting Windows update the Firmware?

Yeah, basically the same issues I experienced before I RMA'd it. All they did was restore the factory partition. I have this annoying popping sound each time I play, pause, or stop audio, or when I adjust the volume. Sometimes the sound will stutter or pop when doing random things, and this is the out of the box configuration (which should work,) but it doesn't. Anything that I can do about this? I've tried updating drivers (when I can find the right ones), reinstalling, clean installing, changing sockets, using it on battery, etc. Also, where can I find updated MSI drivers for the MSI GT75VR 7RE (GTX 1070)? They're pretty outdated on the official MSI website. I've seen a thread on here for drivers for the 8gen gtx1080 GT75 model but I'm not sure if they'd work with my laptop..obviously the GPU driver wouldn't, but that's fine since I download them directly from NVIDIA. I'm considering taking the laptop to a repair shop to have the audio issue fixed because I know that if I send it to MSI they'll just reinstall the OS again and send it back just as it was before.

It can be used to flash firmware however it hasn't been done via WU yet. You can only flash firmware via manufacturer tools like what you did.
For the sound issue that you are having, it's best to record it, upload it to youtube, and let MSI hear it. Otherwise it will be difficult to reproduce the symptom by the repair tech. If it's HW issue then driver updates may not resolve it. Stock drivers might be old and outdated but they usually don't have major issues right out of box.
