    Depending on how valuable the data is, keep one external hard drive in your house, another off-site, and use cloud storage for smaller items (documents, pictures, music). If you purchase a Microsoft Office 365 subscription, you'll get access to the full Office suite plus 1 TB of OneDrive storage. If you look around online, you can find places that sell renewal keys for far less than retail. I've never paid more than $65 for the 5-user pack. Should you only need the single user version, it can be found even cheaper.

    The best and fastest way to backup your data!

    Be smart.. be like Phoenix...
    That's EXACTLY what I do. j00 read my mind bro.

    I backup Software, videos (including my large movies library). music, docs, pics, games to my external drive
    Then through my Office 365 subscription which gives me 1TB of free storage as you mentioned, I have my docs, pics, music, and only a few family videos backed up there
