Hey i just purchased the new GT627 and i knowticed today that the main partion C: with the OS installed is only 40gb big. then there is a D: that is 246gb big? when i explore the D: the only 2 things in it are an applications folder which has corel winzip 11.1 and goyabase and a utilities folder which has a birn now folder, crazytalk folder, burnonce exe, install cfg setting, msiexec exe, and a setup XML doc. IS THIS THE RECOVERY DRIVE? and if so why is it so massave.... my computer states it is only using 1gb. can i use the disk management and swap like 240gb back over to the C:?? or will that mess up the recovery system?

    thanks

From what you said it looks like the recovery is in the C: partition along with the os install files and D: is where you put everything else.

i hate that too when i got mine gt725. first burn recovery disk and than use acronis disk director to change the partion and u would nt lose anything the process is painless but u just have to pay for the software. this is what i used and now i can change the size of my hard drive when ever i want to what ever i want

Are the recovery files visible though exploring? if so what should i look for on the C:. and why did you pay for that software when you can use the vista disk partion manager and change partition size. It seems pretty dumb that they would have the D: be the main partition when eveything including programs default to the C: with the Os. thats why it scared me when i noticed this.

Did you ever re partition the drives?? I'm just now realizing the same thing. How can I switch the drives, or can I? Things I've downloaded now have already gone into the C drive, but I have practically no space left on it. Maybe I should just uninstall the games and stuff from the C drive, and then re install them to the D drive. I really wish they were reversed. Did you figure out how to reverse them in Vista?
