    It should actually be relatively easy to install. If you check the bottom of your laptop you should see a screw hole with an emblem next to it that should be a circle inside a square.
    Remove that screw, use a paperclip in the pin hole on the face of the optical drive to pop the tray out and gently pull on the drive, it should come right out.
    You will then need to remove the 2 screws for the tiny retaining bracket from the back of the optical drive.
    Lastly, there is the matter of the face plate itself, which is clipped on. You just need to gently pry on the 2 retaining clips to remove the face plate.
    Reverse above instructions to install your new optical drive.
