Hi, I have just ordered MSI GT72VR 6RE Dominator Pro (i7 6700HQ, GTX1070), overseas. It should arrive (in about a week), from UK and with UK keyboard layout. Therefore I equipped myself with US keyboard (rgb), which I prefer. The problem is that I cant find any video showing full keyboard replacement in GT72VR. So far I have replaced keyboards in Thinkpads and in Dell m4800, some time ago. But if I see correctly then in MSI GT72VR I cant just remove keyboard bezel, but I have to remove the palmrest?
The big question is if I will have to remove cpu/gpu cooling/heatsink or remove motherboard? If so, I would consider passing this job to some notebooks' service. I am afraid of number of items to disconnect and then reconnect correctly when reassembling. On the other hand I am a bit reluctant to passing a new machine to 3rd party service. Unfortunately I don't have MSI service in the city where I leave (it would be the best option).
I would appreciate help about keyboard replacement procedure in MSI gt72vr 6re.

It's a major teardown to get to the keyboard on that model, I don't recommend doing it yourself (have to take out mobo, it's almost a full disassembly)

Thanks for the response. Having read your reply, I will probably give the notebook to some service for keyboard replacement. One more question: during disassembly for keyboard replacement, will they have to detach the heatsink from mobo and gpu? If so, I would like to give the service a request not to use current-conducting thermal paste when reassembling the cooling/heatsink.

Yes, they will have to remove the fan/heatsink assembly for that.

If you are using any 3rd party, give then a small tube/seringe of GOOD thermal paste, dont worry, they are using the cheapest crap from Dow Corning, so it wont be conductive, but it will leave your system hitting 100ÂșC..

Also, not sure if it was wise to order an US model if you want to swap the keyboard, because the safest way to do so is to swap the whole top, and that will be expensive..
