Figured out how to flash 9600gt GPU BIOS for a stable overclock of 610/850/1500 (6228 in 3DMark06, +10fps increase on average!) now I'm targeting the CPU...

Flashed BIOS to new GX620 update (1651_10i), now shows choice of 15%-20% overclock option in setup...but when I get to windows and hit the invisible turbo button to the right of eco mode, system control manager does nothing. Notebook model is MS-1651 ID2, glossy screen. Anything else I need to be doing here?

    Thanks in advance!

Not sure I can help you in this regard, but how did you flash the GPU BIOS? Thanks.

you also need to flash the firmware for it to work. Its available now on the msi site, called 1651 EC or something.

Thanks Knivez, saw the firmware update but thought it was unrelated. I'm assuming you have to re-install system control manager afterwards?

Garra, if you check out this post http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=21798&mode=threadedit might help. I followed this exactlly and it worked for me. Be careful how far you try to raise things though! In my testing, upping mhz on the shader didn't really have an effect, memory was a small increase, but the core had the biggest impact. Could get the core to 625mhz stable leaving the shader and memory alone, but was able to squeeze about 30 more 3dmarks by using cutting back 15mhz and upping the memory and shader just a bit. Make sure you save a backup of your default rom as well in case you need to recover from a crash or something by setting anything too high. Cheers!

Stateofstatic. I highly recomend you don't overclock your gpu and especially your cpu. Its in a confined area (laptop) and overheating will likely occur. The gains vs the cost of overclocking are not worth it especially with your cpu. Your cpu is BEAST enough. Just consider not doing it.
