Any warranty sticker there? Maybe one screw under that.

Hello guys i know this is an old post, but i'm facing the same problem, i recently upgraded my MSI A6200 and notice it has a slot for a SSD so i want to place one, unfortunately it didn't work or at least i don't know how to activate it. here are some pictures of the computer, to see if it helps.

You must make sure the miniPCIe slot in your notebook has sata pins, not all of them do. Looks like this miniPCIe slot didn't come with a connection to a sata controller so an SSD wont work in that slot.

Did the OP mean a 2.5" ssd or a pci-e ssd? I remember reading on another thread that a mini pci-e won't work on these laptops (something to do with the pinouts). As far as replacing the hdd with a 2.5" SSD, I found this manual on the msi forums for the CX623 which is supposedly the same, if not similar, chassis as the A6200.

EDIT: What hazard said. Beat me to it mate.

    Thanks MH,

How do i know if the miniPCIe slot has SATA pins?

Is a SATA controller something easy to upgrade, something that will not cost me an arm, a leg, and a new computer?

i know the regular 2.5" is SATA, i just upgraded that,

BTW the miniPCIe is compatible with the Dell mini 9 circa 2009, if that helps.

Unless you find a miniPCIe SSD that has a controller built in, you probably wont get a miniPCIe SSD in your MSI notebook.

I replaced my optical drive with a SSD, maybe you should try that if you need more HDDs in your notebook?
