You might have noticed that after the recent update to Windows 10 that the Synaptics settings for your touchpad are nowhere to be found no matter what driver you try installing, old or new or even the latest one downloaded through the Device Manager/Windows Update.
The Synaptics settings are actually there just hidden. Here's how to get to the Synaptics Control Panel
1) Launch the Microsoft Store
2) In the search on the top right, type: synmsidapp or you can simply click on this link to open the app in your browser which will then redirect you to the Microsoft Store app: SynMsiDapp
3) In my case, it showed that it was already installed so I just had to launch but if it wasn't installed, simply click on Install to install it
4) Now click on its icon then hit Launch
5) The Synaptics Pointing Device window will open, click on Settings
6) You will now see the Synaptics Control panel where you can edit all your touchpad settings.
7) For easier access to the Synaptics Touchpad Settings in the future, click on the three dots next to the Launch button in the Windows store then choose Pin to Start
PS: Latest Synaptics Touchpad Driver to this date: Synaptics Touchpad Driver 19.5.31.11

I've told you this before, your OS install is seriously messed up/broken. I can't help you.
It's a driver, nothing to be evaluated.Djadit likes this. -

I suggest you format your laptop and this time get your Windows ISO from a legit place like the Windows Media Creation Tool because I know for a fact you're not running an official ISO. I cannot help you any further. Bye.Djadit likes this. -

Indicates its already installed.
No launch button.
Wont install.
I'm still missing all the W10 touch pad controls as well.

And how are you saying it indicates it's installed, then you sat right below that "Wont install." -

2. Install using Safe Mode with Networking.

@AU4U
I was tweaking someone's computer today via TeamViewer and when trying to install the Synaptics app, he got the same error like you. Then I thought of checking his driver version for the Synaptics Touchpad, it was 19.5.31.3 so I then went to device manager > mice and other pointing devices > right click on "Synaptics SMbus TouchPad" then choose Update Driver and let Windows update the driver it will download the Synaptics Driver 19.5.31.11 then after rebooting, we tried to install the app again and it installed just fine. -
After the install I had the Nvidia and SynTP bugs. Fixed the Nvidia bug. PATCHED the SynTP bug. I still don't have the Windows TP controls.
Unfortunately for MSI and Microsoft, the answer to this issue was patched here, and not by either of them. Shameful that MSI blamed Microsoft, and MS blamed MSI., each passing the buck to each other....Nothing was done about this issue.
So ... Ultra Male ... Who's to be accountable for this problem?
BTW, a +2 rep on the OP.

Oh my god, please I need help.
I have a GT73VR, and after the last Microsoft automatic driver update it installed 19.5.31.11, which is horrible!
The sensibility of my touchpad now is unusable when I try to make little movements. Aren't you guys experiencing this problem?
I installed the MS Store app, and configured the touchpad exact the same settings I had before, and it still sucks.
Before the FORCED update, I had version 19.3.4.193, that worked flawlessly.
I tried going back to my old version, but windows keeps updating to the latest buggy one. I tried disabling windows driver updates on regedit, but windows just ignores and auto update all my drivers.
I don't know what to do anymore. I want my old stable version, can you help? -

For some odd reason I did not need the SynMsiDapp worked fine just installing the driver the settings are in devices in windows settings.
-
This is still the most recent driver?
-
Ya know what really sucks ... Updated to W10 1903 and its still not fixed properly.
Having a GT75 is a penalty for ownership .... Geeeesh. -
how is everything else after that update to 1903? I don't use my touch pad so I wouldn't miss that.

The problem is the app is signed with a security certificate that expired in August 2018.
You can download the whole package at MSI's support (at least for my GS65 Stealth) and the app is embedded inside. Unzip (extract all) the down load. Right click the appx and pick the digital signature tab. You'll see it is expired.
You can choose to import the expired cert and trust it on your local system, then turn on "sideload" for developers and the app will install.
FWIW, it does work a little better with the app and you can set more features.
Bottom line, MSI needs to rattle Synaptics to re-sign the app and update their download and the one in the store. I think the reason it will not download is that the Windows Store knows it is no longer certified.gweempose likes this. -

The sleep/hibernate black screen on wake issue still persists, I shut down and don't sleep, I gave up on fixing it.
Most everything is OK though, really the only 2 things.
Occasionally SteelSeries update goes wonky and a clean install is necessary.
Nvidia doesn't give me any problems.
I got rid of Nahimic which is problematic software, I don't need it as VLC has much better DSP settings.
I really like my series GT75.Bobbert9 likes this. -
Tried many things with drivers, nothing worked.
Did you find a solution since your message?
