Hey NBR,
I received my MSI GS70 from Newegg today but I want to disable RAID so I can use one of the mSATA for the OS and some programs and the second one to run my favorite games. I did some reading and I can see where to change it out of RAID from bios but I also read something about breaking the array by pressing CTRL+I. Problem is when I press CTRL+I at the boot screen nothing happens.
Would I be able to disable RAID by creating a recovery USB drive, then enter BIOS and change RAID to ACHI, and boot up windows with the USB?
Thanks.

That's the worst thing you can do with GS70 ... Simply divide your drive by "Disk partition" you can find it in Control Panel or simply use Win 8 search.

Do what charliex3 suggests because it seems to be the best and easy way.
If you really want to disable RAID then you need to first create a recovery disks or USB drive in Windows, once the recovery disks is created go to your BIOS > Advanced > Intel RAPID storage technology to delete the RAID array from there.
Once the RAID array is deleted all your files is gone and you can change the SATA back to AHCI and then insert recovery DVD to re-image your SSDs. -
Should probably note that you need to leave your controller on RAID if you wish to use Intel RST for caching purposes.

Thanks for the replies, managed to reinstall Windows and break my RAID array completely.
