I replaced one 128GB with a 512GB SanDisk and added another 512GB Sandisk but kept one of the two 128GB Toshibas, after I broke the RAID-0.
Should I expect a failure of that SSD? I use it for data only and don't put anything essential on it.

With Sandforce controllers out of the picture, there's very little variance in reliability among SSD brands. The only real exceptions in the consumer space are the Intel 600p (they're cheap for a reason) and Samsung 850 Pro (as close to enterprise grade as you can get).

I read on the MSI forum that someone had this 128GB Toshiba fail, the stock unit that comes with the MSI GT80. I think I've seen that more than once.
Not sure if it's a controller issue or what.
My machine came with the RAID-0 of course, creating a 256GB stripped drive composed of 2x128GB and I deleted it, adding bigger SSDs and relegating it to the data disk in backup capacity. So my expectations are not high from it. Still, I would like to know if this is in my future:

If you browse Amazon reviews, you will see failure patterns for various SSDs.
This appears to be the model that came with MSI Titan GT80S. Terrible 1.5 stars / 5.

Samsung 850 gets 4.5 stars for example in the M.2 2280 format but the same thing in the 2.5" drive SATA III gets 5 stars.

Sandisk is what I have, also 4.5 stars.

I've already given you advice on what to do. Take it or leave it. -
Good, that's exactly what I want to see.
How reliable is the 128GB Toshiba SSD that comes with GT80S?
