Yeah, this is a tough one for two reasons (a) I don't know much of the 3850 radeon mobility, at least compared to other discrete mobile GPUs, and (b) that 735 has AMD CPUs, which are pretty anemic. (AMD's never manged to make a decent mobile processor, battery life will be shorter with an AMD CPU too...)

Because of (b) I'd go with the G50 as it has Intel P8600, but then (c) the warranty will be limited. (Normally MSI has 1y nb warranty in US, ASUS has 2y with the 1st year including accidental damage when purchased new.)

...so ... dunno ... sorry ... It's really hard to make a choice on a notebook including discrete GPU in that budget. You could try lowering your expectations a little and look at MSI 1651/GT625 models. They had 512MB GDDR3 9600M GTs and should be pretty cheap now(if you can find any), but gaming performance will be less than the above. (The ASUS is VERY bulky, the 735 chassis not too bad(same as 725/MSI 1722), the 625/1651 are a nice size(same chassis as 627 too).

(That's an idea too now that I think of it, check GT627 prices, you might be able to find a new one in your price range... Also if you think that you can up your budget some more and can wait, you might want to try waiting a little longer and see what comes out and if you can score any deals on older models(new).)

The cheaper one is an open box which means it might be missing parts such as power cord or adapter, also it is probably used and the warranty is cut short also, Better to buy it new for an extra $50.00 after rebate.
Also the GT735 is very good for gaming, the OC works well and the GPU can be OC'd also. It will play most games on High except Crysis and GTA IV.. Only thing I would recommend is a notebook cooler as amd tends to run hot. Good luck with the purchase and let us know when you get it.
