Barebones, its not any cheaper than the Clevo p151hm from rjtech.

And rjtech really knows whats up... They changed it from gtx 460m to 560m default without changing the price ;)

The only questionable aspect of MSI nowadays is the case. This was very bad with the gx640. However, this is because they used the same case as the gx620 which was several years old.
The newer series are much much better. Overall they are probably the cheapest "real" gaming laptops and they don't exactly have that "boutique" feel.
But thats what I like about them. The case is still better than any consumer laptop probably, without all the bells and whistles, and its still a little like a normal laptop with the same power as all the flashy brands.

We recently lowered the price as we try to close out the remaining 460M's. The price is so good because we are trying to move remaining inventory before we switch over to the 560M. If you are interested in the 560M it is in stock now also. :)

The Clevo P151 (Sager NP8130) did not change in price with the new GPU.

From what I see, the Force 16F2 has a second hard drive option plus the DVD drive where the Cleve does not.

My biggest concern about the 16f2 is that if i add some stuff, i don't really have no way of knowing a part or 2's on backlog until payment's been processed. All i want is the 2630qm with 2 750gb 7200rpm on it with 560m. Um.. do you happen to know how long those config would take?

On another note, anyone know if the turbo fan button is on this chassis as well? From what i can tell, it's a g680 chassis sans annoying orange lights and no mention of turbo button.

The barebone 16F2 does not have turbo feature or the cooler boost fan function.

I will recheck another unit but have not seen that feature active on the barebone units. MSI does not usually have the enhanced features crossover to the barebone models.

Nice! Thanks seen it on your website. Still can't see speaker grills. And now I see, that two buttons on left side is not assigned for anything... Can they be configured and assigned?
OMG I have looked better these 2 buttons are dummies?....

The buttons on the left are not buttons at all, they are cast features in the panel to make it look uniform. There are no actual "speaker grills" the material is uniform across the entire surface.

For our PowerPro R 11:36 (MSI MS 16F2) repairs are only done at the US factory. In the unlikely event that you would have to return your computer for warranty repairs when outside the US, you would have to pay for the shipping/handling and insurance both ways, but your warranty is still valid.

I really want to buy Force16F2 because it very strong but it's price is very cheap. So it make me worry, why is it so cheap with that power?
Should I buy Force16F2? or I buy GX680, it more expensive than 16F2 but it safe. do you think so?

While I have no personal experience with the Force16F2, I can tell you XoticPC and PowerNotebooks are reputable resellers, who I doubt would try to rip people off by selling cheap pieces of junk, I've reccomended it to several of my friends looking for good quality laptops.

The MS-16F2 is the same as the GT680 & GT683 without the external LED lamps, Turbo engine and cooler boost. The MS-16F2 with the 560M is now available.

You will notice that no one is really offering Optimus with high end video cards. Even though it is theoretically possible to implement Optimus with high end video cards like the nVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M w/1.5GB GDDR5 and above there are compatibility issues with several games, STEAM, and even Linux. You will see it with the mid-range cards like say the GT 540M, but not with the high end cards. It seems that when you try to compromise you don't do either thing well.

So, you have to decide whether battery life or powerful graphics is most important to you, and make your choice accordingly.

I am looking at the Force 16F2, too. Pricewise seems pretty good.
So if it's based on the MSI GT680 or GT683, where can the drivers be downloaded from later on? My understanding is that there will be a driver CD included when you get it from xoticpc or powernotebooks, so the initial system setup should not be an issue. I have my own W7.
But where can the later driver/bios updates be downloaded from?
The MSI issues a warning regarding the applicability of their drivers (either the GT680 or the GT683) to the whitebook systems.

Once MSI gets to it, you will find the BIOS and drivers at MSI Notebook Product Specifications

In the meantime, all of the component drivers that are supported on the PowerPro R 11:36 (MS 16F2) can be used from the MSI GT683R and MSI GT680. For example the chipset, video, audio, LAN, USB 3.0, SCM, IRST, etc. are the same so you can use them confidently. Just know to use the proper nVIDIA drivers depending on whether you have the nVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M 192bit w/1.5GB GDDR5 or nVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M w/1.5GB GDDR5.

Just don't use the GT series BIOS or drivers for things like KLM or other drivers for things the 16F2 doesn't support.
