I've read that the Sbar software is pretty annoying, mainly the bar being on top of the screen at all times. If the software is removed the buttonns on the laptop no longer work.
Also that the Sbar is the only way to open the optic drive? How would you go about with a reformat or recovery?
Can anyone provide me with some insight? Maybe screenshots of the bar? Or any workarounds or fixes?
Thanks!

I have a gt780dx and this laptop has several touchpad buttons which have significant inpact on using the laptop (Turbo, fan control, screen brightness, wi-fi, bluetooth and opening the optical drive). If the SBar is not activated, I am unable to get these buttons to work. That said, I am not too proficient at this stuff so there may be an easy work around but I for one, dont know what it is. Plus, I had to find out about the SBar needing to be active - on here - as there wasnt a clear indication about that and I was initially frustrated because I was unable to open the drive to put in an installation cd... Seems counter productive to me. The msi software should be automatically on at all times and the SBar shouldn't be necessary unless desired.

I don't find the sbar intrusive. There is a little star in the upper middle of the screen. When you place your mouse over that bar you can see the functions. I think there is some info in here to remove it. To re-install it , it will be on the drivers disc you received with your laptop and on the MSI web site.

Thanks for providing the screenshots Daacon, It doesnt seem to terrible. Is that Star persistent when windows are open or other applications or is it just there on the desktop?
Also, How would one go about opening the optic drive without having the S-bar installed, is there a little hole to push a paper clip head in or something to engage the mechanism? -
The star will remain behind a modal window (window that has the focus) no problem there. As for opening your DVD drive there is a pin hole as all CD/DVD drives have but this is meant more for an emergency open (no power , won't open via software or open button, etc). You can also open the CD/DVD drive by choosing that drive in windows explorer , right click and choose / eject I am sure there are other shortcuts as well.
How intrusive is the S-Bar software?
