Hi, sorry if this has been covered elsewhere.

I'm considering buying the MSI GS70, I love the appearance and think that the computer is powerful enough to run everything I need it to run at the moment. I'm wondering how easy it is to modify the laptop with a more current GPU or additional SSDs as the laptop ages. Does anyone have experience with this?

    Thanks!

The GPU and CPU are both soldered onto the motherboard, so they're not upgradable. The hard drives are easy to replace. The laptop has two mSATA slots and one 2.5" hard drive bay. Both are easily accessible by removing the bottom plate.

Thanks, given the difficulty with updating (particularly the GPU), do you have any thoughts on the likely lifespan of the laptop?

The lifespan is hard to say and it depends on what you're using it for. If it's purpose is gaming, I'd give it a three or so year lifespan. Probably longer, depends how cutting edge you want to be. If graphics aren't your top priority, it'll last as long as you want it to.
