I want to use my GE76 laptop (11UH) as my main computer, hook it up to my external monitor through TB (ThunderBolt) and also hook the audio up to my Logitech Z906 5.1 surround system which only has optical and coaxial digital inputs, no HDMI input.
From the manual I get that the GE76 has no dedicated digital audio output, which would've been perfect (please correct me if I'm wrong, but I can't find it).
The commercials show supposedly how amazing the sound is on the built in speakers, but I cannot find an easy way to get surround from the laptop onto my external 5.1 speakers.
The laptop has all the other ports that carry audio, HDMI, DP, TB, so there is a sound signal on those ports, but how do I get that to my external speaker input with minimal effort?
I know there's gadgets that extracts the sound that I could reroute, I'm thinking like this: https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/1005...xp_id=bf88a2c8-20e5-490e-8924-d492b79627f2-15
Though I'm not crazy about another power drawer that I have to unplug if I could do it passively in some way, I'm more concerned if I can get video with TB and extract audio from HDMI at the same time without Windows complaining.

Could get a USB DAC with optical output, I believe mine has one but I dont use it for that purpose.

I found this on Amazon, https://www.amazon.nl/gp/product/B0779S6NC6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A2M8DEO6BEJ1QF&psc=1
But at over 60 bucks it's kinda crazy. Seems to not need external power as it's fed by the USB input. Looks like a higher end USB soundcard which is kind of a waste of the laptop internals.
What brand/model do you have? Maybe I can look that up.
How do I get 5.1 surround from a GE76 laptop that has no digital audio ports?
