My laptop came with a matte screen and I am thinking of switching that out to a high gloss screen. The standard is a 17.3” Full HD (1920x1080) LED Backlit 90% NTSC Color Gamut Glossy LCD (AUO B173HW01V4). BUT, given the talk about Windows 8, I'm wondering if there isnt a comparable screen that also has touch screen capability?

Anyone know and if so, can you point me in the right direction?

I do not believe this model supports Touch Screens

But you can swap out the display to a gloss screen, but it likely would void your warranty

No, it doesnt and no, it wont hurt my warranty as long as its done at a factory authorized shop. But for now I am just wondering if such a screen even exists... To the best of my knowledge it doesnt (yet) but thats why I'm asking... Thanks for the feedback.

See quote below, I would check before any screen upgrades

Partners can perform Upgrades to cpu, memory, hdd, wireless. ect. Screen upgrades, chassis modifications will void the manufactures warranty. Performing a screen upgrade is major disassembly/reassembly to the notebook chassis.

Thanks Dave! I'm told from a well known msi reseller that they are authorized (by msi) to customize other msi's without voiding the msi warranty. However, I will double-check. If you'd like to know who I'm referring to, please PM me. I dont think I can say here as it might be considered a promotion... Its a well known, "power notebook" gaming site... :D
