    hi...

i am kind of a newbie to laptops..but i wanted one as a desktop replacement and for gaming...the best laptop that seems to fit my needs is probably the GX700. However i have a few queries:

    1) What would you say are the Pros/Cons or problems if any with it? Is it one of the bet gaming laptops?

    2) I'm in the UK and was looking for a rebranded or even original MSI gx700 but without the fire strips or any of that funky gfx since i don't really like them? Is there anywhere that i can get one?

The best i have come across so far is this rebranded gx700: http://www.meshcomputers.com/Default.aspx?PAGE=PRODUCTVIEWPAGE&USG=PRODUCT&ENT=PRODUCT&KEY=226530

Everything seems to be OK..but my main concern is is the T7100 1.8 Ghz proccesor...is it too slow? I mean is there much differnce between the 2.0/2.2 versions, and will it affect gaming and general perfomrance?

Sorry but i don't know much about laptops so i thought i'd ask here...hope someone can help me..thanks!

They have the best configuration of the GX700 for the best price. It is based in Canada.

thanks for that link mate! (and thanks for the replies ppl)

Yeah i like this laptop...however the perfect version is the extreme edition..but i hate the flame grpahics..if it didn't have those it would be perfect

Just one question...do you recommend the laptop?..for gaming and encoding video files? Or does anyone recommend another in a similiar price range?

    Thanks

you can always go for the Performance model which comes without the flames design
