Yeah, you'll need the drivers again. Be sure to double check your Device Manager for any yellow "!" as well.

    More specifically, try this.......

If the touchbar is the only problem, reinstall the following from MSI's 'Utility' downloads, and you should be fine:

    SCM

    NVidia VGA OC Tool

    :)

Ok, first of all, what GT70 model do you have specifically? This is why it is a good idea to have your notebook's configuration in your Signature. (look at the bottom of my post, my signature)

As far as the NV VGA OC tool, once installed it becomes one of your start-up items..... and there is no need to launch it. Also, you should see an icon for this in your Systray. This tool engages when you press the 'P1' button on your touch-bar, which launches TDE. If the tool is not installed, TDE will not function.

As to TurboFan, when you press this button on your touch-bar, the fan will spin-up to 100%. There really isn't any fan control..... TurboFan is either On or Off. Otherwise, just leave it to the notebook's automatic fan profile to do the job.

After installing the SCM utility, do all your touch-bar controls now work?

    :)

Just shutdown your computer & unplug the power cable, then remove the battery and return it, then tun the laptop and it will work again, without downloading or reinstall windows, reply if it work

Hi, I know the topics a bit dated - are you saying you flashed the EC firmware and it fixed the issue?
I am wondering if the EC firmware can go bad on its own.
Did you flash the BIOS and then the EC firmware or just the EC firmware alone?

    Thanks

EC normally doesn't go back unless force flashed to wrong version.
There's no specific order required to which firmware to be flashed first/last.

After visiting the GT70 site I verified that there are two keyboards so I presume you did indeed flash the EC firmware -- good information!

By the 3 or so people whose problem were fixed by this method (flashing the EC firmware) there is apparently some kind of issue with how the EC firmware is implemented/controlled and/or handshaking somewhere.
I would tend to agree that flashed data normally does not go bad but after seeing the flaky behavior involved I must conclude something in these setups is less than ideal.
Also the EC resetting method helping many (full power down) would seem to indicate that the volatile aspects of the EC are prone to some errors like anything else.

Thanks for the info Kevin on the BIOS/EC not needing any order to them.
