Hi, i formatted the OS Windows Partition to install the version of 64bits, but after i setting up the Date and Hour of Computer the system reboot and when restart it wont pass the "Microsoft Corporation" Black Screen, i tried all the Safes Modes and the "Last...." Options and still the same thing... I tried to reinstall the 64bits version 3 times and the same thing happens.. And i forgot to create the Recovery disks.

What i can do ? How i create this disks ? i installed ubuntu in a new partition and there i can see the Backups Partition...

    Anyone can help me ?

    Thanks !

Do you have F3 option on your BIOS screen? F3 is to access the recovery partition, but since I never did this I can't give you more info.

Are you installing vista X64 with service pack 1.
Because vista X64 has a problem when installing windows with more than 3 gigs of memory
without service pack one, If you can remove one stick of memory and try to reinstall it.
Or get a copy with service pack 1.

Try the F3 thing upon start up (unless you erased the recovery part)

If not, with gparted Completely erase the partition, format it to the last known file system (NTFS) I think and try install the 64bit OS again.

Thats all i can think of but i shall do some research.

I have the same exact problem. No recovery disks either. The third time I installed vista after reformatting and doing a fresh install with my x64 cd's, I booted to repair console, and rebuilt the BCD. I was able to then boot into vista and use it. I then did a restart after installing drivers and it worked. Then I installed sp1, rebooted and again stuck at the loading screen. Any ideas? Is this a bad hd that keeps getting corrupted??

If nothing else works perhaps someone could upload images of recov disks. Doing it this way would trash your hdd based recov options but it sounds like that got deleted anyway.

I could do it via a torrent; don't have any upload site accounts. So someone else is probably a better bet. But if no one else can, I'll give it a shot, let me know here in this thread. Dropping it in the mail might be faster lol, I have comcast.

Be warned that recov this way won't restore the old hdd recov options, my discs are a full restore. Not sure you can ever get the hdd recov back once you lose it anyway.

Thanks Cuib. I'll let you know. As of now I talked to a friend and he has original discs of 64 home premium. My discs were for ultimate so tommorow I will try to install with his and see if it makes a difference. I'll post back
    Thanks again

Try the free Windows7 RC1 64-bit available from Microsoft just to see whether or not the x64 is the problem -- it won't expire until March 2010.

I created a thread wherein SkinsFan describes the driver solutions for Win7 64-bit, and they worked like a charm on my 627!

    Here:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=381299

    good luck!

Hey, Thanks for everyone's help. I used a friends 64 version of home premium and it installed and activated with no issues. Just for kicks, I then wiped the hd again, but this time wiped the recovery partition as well. I then was able to install ultimate with no issues.
