    AHH im going crazy!!
    BRAND NEW MSI 1719 W 8600GT
when trying to load graphix card driver, half way through... the screen starts flickering then the pc crashes. iv called RJ tech where i bought it and they said to flash the bios so after days of figurin out how to flash the bios and learning that my laptop came with 1.0c version which was actualy a vista version. so i got exited when i found the right version for XP which is what i use. i would never use vista... yet... so please dont suggest it ...anyway i finaly got the bios updated to the xp version and guess what!! i still cant get the GC drivers to load and it still crashes the whole sys.... serious error and all. iv even downloaded the drivers from nvidia just to try it... iv been using the disk that came w the laptop....
im getting majorly peed off..... iv always been an ati fan (believe it or not) and you can guess what im thinking.

The driver on the OEM cd does not work with XP (vista only), your reseller should have known this and will have the XP VGA and System Control Manager drivers (do not use the scm driver on the cd for xp). Also the 1.0C bios works fine with xp (no need to update) but will show the PCI memory controller (turbo memory) as an unknown device. This will cause no performance issues, the XP bios disables this controller.

If you cannot get the VGA and SCM drivers from your reseller contact me and i will foward the download link from our ftp to you...................

Strangely, even the videocard drivers from nvidia's website dont work.
I have 3 drivers, one downloaded from nvidia, one on the notebook original cd and one supplied by RKC.

And only the one from RKC works.

On my c:\nvidia\ there is a 163.44 folder.
But does someone know how to check the driver version via nvidia control panel or so?
