I just finished downloading windows 7 RTM and once i find a blank dvd plan to dual boot vista/windows 7 while i test things out.

has anybody been successful installing windows 7 on a gx620 and getting all the devices/drivers working correctly?

Win 7 works perfectly on the GX620. All the devices are supported and the MSI utilities work as well.

Windows 7 ultimate rtm (legit copy) installed with no problems, on bootup, no video drivers. shows standard vga driver.

device manager shows 4 ! "base system device" and 1 ! "Unknown device"

the bluetooth, nvidia hd audio, and camera drivers installed fine automaticly.

the nvidia drivers for 9600m gt on their website doesn't install.

any ideas ? are there chipset drivers for this laptop for windows 7?

which nvidia driver did you use? the one from nvidia or the one from MSI?

did you try the vista chipset drivers from the MSI site?

i downloaded the msi vista drivers for the chipset, and the video card from msi's website, the vdieo card appears to be working correctly now.

cardreader_jm_vx_nb.zip resolved the 4 devices, even though the sd reader was working fine earlier.

now only the 1 unknown device is left "on Intel(R) ICH9M LPC Interface Controller - 2919"

    what is this?

this is where you can download that driver. It controls your USB, Raid, and other important ports along other things as well.
