A good majority of people i have seen , read one negative review and get scared. That one negative feedback gets echoed times over.
Now HID just avoid the whole hassle by cancelling the order. It would have turned out fine or it wouldnt have. End of the day they have the right to deny service. The customer is not always the king, specially when it comes to high end system, unless proven otherwise.
Is it Damage Control? Hell yeah it is! Would have taken that all laid back and relaxed? I highly doubt it.
You sound like a reasonable buyer, im sure if a seller wrongs you and tried to make it right you will provide accurate feedback, not start twisting words and provide marginal information , and not give credit where credit is dude.
End of the day, i have had to deal with HID's a total of 2 times in the last 2 years over 2 different systems, and both times they went above and beyond to help. The day they do wrong by me, i will post about it accurately in one thread. And no 10 different threads, where they have to go on a clean up spree with the mods.

Just a last thought: When I saw "power cord" I had a feeling it was more like a power brick but when HID cleared thing out stating it was 300+$ AC that payed off to HID in potential buyer's eyes - that was a good damage control. But when I read about order cancellation I saw an example of an awful one. I have nothing else to say here.
