HI there~! i received GX640 from my friend, and i`d like to mod this laptop`````i got some questions about it```
is it possible to upgrade cpu from 430m to 720QM with HM55 chipset?
i`m a gamer, should i need to upgrade GPU? like 6970M or GTX570M and something```if so, should i need to change bios before changing GPU?
is it necessary to buy a high TDP power supply? or replace a new cooling system? or just make some holes on bottom board? i also planed to buy a USB air draft outside the air-vent, that would be cool```` :) :) :)

Why not just upgrade the laptop?
It will definitely require a better power supply, a better cooling design and GPU requires a custom heatsink; at least if it fits.

Add a bit to the upgrade money and you can easily get a new MSI GT780/GT70 laptop.

    ````` i can buy a new I7 720QM at 70$ with exchange rate 1/6.3029````and 254$ for DELL`s 6970m, 286$ for CLEVO`s 6970m; 251$ for MSI`s GTX570m```1507$ for MSI GT780(smuggled) and 2173$ for regular`````
so, i think upgrade is better for me`````

i7 will work fine, 6970M or 570M upgrades might be a bit difficult, because the laptop's cooling system is not the best one (even with mods).

6970m will work, but it will be hot as hell.

No need to give up. There's a GX640 on the forum with 6970M... Nearly everything is possible with these little msi beasts.

i see````wow````inflated heat sinks·······i`ve got an idea````the same design as his, but with liquid metal instead of silicon one```i think i can run without that huge fan bottom```````should i need a 180W upper power supply?
