I did a repaste from the crappy stock job on my gt70 a few weeks ago. It seemed to be running sorta hot like 50 ish on idle and 95 on bf4. That is the cpu. so i decided to open it up again today and I remember this weird strip on the cpu it had paste under it on all the resistors or whatever, thinking about it that seems strange as these usually dont get covered up or pasted, it seems like unnessary paste. Here is a pic of what im talkin about: imgur: the simple image sharer

tell me if i shld remove this strip and old paste under it or what I should do?

It's either a guide for the machine at the factory or a weird attempt to stop shorting, so long as it does not sit on the core it wont do anything harmful.

No you do not need to remove it and apply paste there. I mean, you can remove it, but you don't need to, and it does not need any compound.
