Ive just bought and installed a 7970m in my gx660r, its a Dell card, but I'm wondering what the issue is with this 'Enduro'? Is it a feature thats not designed to work with msi machines, or is it something that ati have fudged up?

Machines that support Enduro allow for power saving via switching between the iGPU (built into the CPU) on minimal load, and the discrete/dedicated graphics card during heavy load. The driver issues that have arisen are a complication that AMD is still sorting out. It's not a problem specific to MSI laptops - it's just a technology going through refinement.

I wonder if this is an issue with my MSI 16F2... For example in Far Cry 3, I can run it at a stable 50-60 fps then a few minutes later it'll slow down to about 15-19 fps for about 5 seconds then return to normal. This happens about every 5-7 minutes. I have logged it in hwinfo and I'm seeing inconsistencies with GPU utilization. While in game it will range from 99% (max) to 0% (min), which doesn't seem right.

On a second note, I've tried this card in my M17x R2 and it doesn't have any issues. No stutter and the logs shows a consistent GPU utilization of >99% during gameplay.

The asus G73JH processor doesnt support Enduro. The processor doesnt have an IGPU so there is no way enduro can even function.

Just the latest regular asus bios. you can flash the vbios with chastity's modded VBIOS which turns down clocks even further when on battery but thats about it. That laptop (which I owned) didnt have a lot of crazy mods with the bios. The best performance you are going to get is with the latest regular asus bios and the modded Vbios.

I went from the G73JH to the msi gt70 780m. It gets 5x the battery life and has over 500x the performance.

***Oh I see now you are trying to put the 7xxx card into the g73jh. Word of advice. Not worth it. Sell the card, sell the JH invest like 400 bucks and get a laptop thats more powerful then doing that hacked in mod.
