    Hey all.

When I clone my display to an external TV, there is an ever ever ever so slight lag on the TV end. I tried 3x different HDMI cables, and 4x different TV's. Not not really noticeable during like video viewing but even when just using the mouse, there is a slight slight lag on the tv VS's the laptop display.

    Anyone else getting this?

Hmm, I haven't noticed this issue but I've always read that TV's will always have a little bit of lag... Having said that, I use the HDMI to connect to either a 24" monitor or a 50" LCD TV, and haven't noticed any lag. Have watched NFL Sunday Ticket on the TV along with playing a few games, including BF3 and didn't feel lag. Also, I regularly have my external monitor hooked up while sitting at my desk and it's seemless from monitor to laptop screen, both either while duplicating or extending the desktop.

What drivers are you using? I think the HDMI is directly running from the 780m as well so doubt it's an Optimus issue. I was using the 320.49's since release while using HDMI. Have now updated to the newest 327.23's but haven't hooked to an external dispaly yet... I definitely will Sunday though for some football!

yeah its really really odd. I mean its very very small and like I said it doesnt really effect the watching if videos and what not and audio is still in sinc but its just the small mouse lag.

All 4 HDMI cables I have tried have been 15 footers. Maybe ill try a shorter one. Im using the latest WHQL nvidia.

Probably picture processing takes some time in the TV.

Just tried it again out of curiosity, both with a short 4' HDMI cable and a long 16' cable, and neither had any noticeable mouse lag that I could discern on my el cheapo LG 24" monitor or a 50" Sony LCD TV that's a few years old now. Do you have a monitor with HDMI input handy you could compare to see if it's the TV (I know you've tried 4) introducing a slight lag? Or maybe it has different picture "modes", and some are better than others? I do run my TV in "sports" or "game" mode.

PC mode should bypass all processing.

Most of the new samsung TVs that i have bought have a delay in response, I dont know of other brands. It was noticeable on my home theatre as the audio was removed from the signal passed to the TV, the best advice is to try with Gaming mode or similar if available.

All TVs have more input lag compared to computer monitors even with a lot of the post processing removed.

Yes, all TVs lag. But PC mode should remove the processing and lag.

As others have mentioned, look for a PC mode, or sometimes they make a "game" mode to reduce input lags as much as possible :)

Yeah so tried again on 2 different TV's. The mitsubishi was able to change the input name to PC and the lag was gone! This phillips hdtv has no such settings. So yeah, it was all on the TV end of things. What a pain haha

Glad you got it figured out... I tried again yesterday while streaming NFL Sunday ticket to the TV through HDMI and verified I couldn't detect lag. Loaded up a game and it played just fine control/lag wise. This was in "game" mode on a Sony.

What I noticed with my TV when I hook it up, is that vsync does not work properly on it. It works normally on my laptop panel but on my TV there is still tearing.
