Is there somebody that has similar problem? When I play HD movie on my laptop it's playing it slowly, not all the time, but when there are scenes with fast movement. These scenes are played with slower frame rate, about 15-20 fps. Is it about codecs? I'm using Vista codec pack latest version 32-bit + 64-bit extension + Vista Ultimate x64. I hope it's not due to downclock of my GPU. Any ideas?

some .mkv movie files are compressed with very high bitrate , and this will slow down the playback performance.

    anyway try k-lite Codec instead

Wow... you know, they are exactly *.mkv files... I didn't thought about that...
I will try also K-Lite Codeck Pack... on my other laptop I'm using that one and Windows XP x86. But that one is uncapable to play HD movies :D

It could be to downclock i guess, its how low you actually downclocked the GPU but it should just be a simple issue with codecs :)

I didn't have the time yesterday to check that...
But the card is on default values for other 3 profiles. I overclocked only the extreeme performance one. So I think while watchng movies it stays on 2D profile mode. That's why I assumed that this clocks might be also a reason for that. I hope today will find some time to play with it.

I have a 1652 which has the same Video card but uses AMD processors. Is slow playback of HD clips usually a slow video card or CPU? I have a fairly slow CPU (1.9ghz dual core) in my laptop and have not been able to use it long enough yet to know how it plays HD clips, but I will be getting a Blu-ray drive soon and was wondering if I should look at getting a faster CPU first.
