    Guys...help? Msi gt80 refuses to turn on?

    Completely out of the blue, yesterday it was fine turned it off at night woke up in the morning to find that pushing the power button does nothing at all. Power cable is plugged in tried with t in and out have no idea what to do in this situation.

    Jesus almost had a heart attack, did an ec reset and it fixed it. Any idea what might have caused this?

    Wow, please explain the EC reset process if you could as it could be beneficial to others in the future if we see the same issue. Very glad to hear it powered back up though as I know how that feels.

    Basically the way to reset it is hold the power button for around 12 seconds and let go. Afterwards you say a short prayer and push the power button once more lol.

    Was it plugged in? A small surge can kick the protection in and need an EC reset to restart properly.

    It was plugged in yeah, that's probably what happened.
