    Hi guys,
A new MSI GT75 owner here. I have a couple of quick questions.
1, I replaced the original storage by 2 samsung 960 pro and 1 hdd. BurnRecovery doesnt work for this reason. Called MSI CS and being asked 35 bucks for a recovery disc. Unhappy! Any way to resolve it?
2, Has anyone tried to install windows 7 on the rig?
    3. More torublesome. The rig comes W/ 16gb 2400 ddr4. Installed on slot 1. Looks like I have to remove it if i want the rig work @ ddr4 2933, For this purpose, do I have to uninstall the motherboard?
    Thx a lot in advance.

    1. They're with their rights to do this, but if you don't need the exact factory image, you can just download a Windows 10 image with the media creation tool and use that to reinstall from a flash drive, that option costs nothing.
    2. Not going to work if you have a 7th gen processor (the 7 in 7RF)
    3. You mean move it to another slot, or remove entirely?

    1. Put stock drives back and you can create the ISO/USB for future use. They provide this service for $35 as it's an extra service.
    2. There are no Win7 driver support from MSI therefore it's not recommended. What's the reason that you need to run Win7? Perhaps we can help.
    3. One bank is underneath the keyboard (harder to work on), and one bank is on the bottom. Please proceed with caution.

    Thx for the reply.
For the 3rd one, I mean move the one under the keyboard to the downside of the motherboard. Does it mean I need to disassemble the MB 1st?

    Thank you for the reply.
1, well. BurnRecovery will never work for the rig anymore, is it right?
2, I have installed windows 7 professional on the rig, a little bit complicated, but made it. Now working out how to create recovery disc for current OS by 3rd party tool.
BTW: if someone in the forum wants it, I can post an instruction and upload complete drivers applicable for win 7.
Why not win 10? WIn 10 home is bascially nothing for me due to privacy reasons. No domain join, Group Policy Management, Bitlocker, Enterprise Mode Internet Explorer (EMIE), Assigned Access 8.1, Remote Desktop, Client Hyper-V.
3, does it mean i gotta take aprt the MB 1st?

LOL there's a lot of space between "not being able to afford large SSDs" and "rich".

I finally got everything working on windows 7 on this thing. Windows 10 just was unstable and I'm not a big fan of spyware and keyloggers masquerading as an OS. But I'd love to see your drivers and install instructions, might work better if I have to reinstall someday.

Making assumptions is. Personally I would be more offended by being called "boy". That's condescension, particularly in that context.

I installed Windows 7 and 10 from scratch on my GT75. It wasn't bad, but you have to install the drivers in a specific order. It looks like you are beyond that piece, but in case anyone else is searching this thread, here is what worked for me:

    installed windows
    installed the chipset drivers,
    installed the MSI SCM utility,
hit the MUX switch to turn off discrete gfx,
    installed Intel VGA Drivers
    Muxed again
    Installed Nvidia VGA Drivers
and then ran through the rest of the drivers.

I am still digging my GT75 and it is holding up great and I used it 8+ hrs daily - mostly for work these days, but it still sees weekly gaming sessions.

Looks you have installed win7 on your rig. So i dont have to talk about how to create bootable usb installation tool.
As for drivers, I tried to find all DRIVERS from each manufactors' web, which means, I searched intel for chipest driver and management tool, found wireless driver from Killer's web ...
I installed UTILITIES from MSI web directly even though those are for win 10.
The order is very important, you may find it in this fourm.
