Ok so my internet subscription is 20mbps and the router is dual band, whenever i connect my dual shock 4 controller via blue tooth my speed drops to 5 to 10mbps in speedtest.net and my ping increases. This only happens with my gt73vr, i tried pairing the ds4 to my old acer core i5 laptop and the speed didn't drop. So this got me wondering what's wrong with my gt73vr, I'm considering the wlan card could be the culprit since I've read many issues about it. Any of you guys experience it?

Yeah it's the killer Nic. You have to do alot of research for fixes. Some recommend using ONLY the microsoft supplied drivers. Others say only use the killer basic driver but not the software suite. And others say to just buy an Intel 8265 and be done with it.

Make sure you're running the latest drivers for the NIC with the ones from Killer's website, not MSI's. Also, if you have the full suite installed, disabling advanced stream detect often fixes these problems.

You can do driver-only from killer's website if you don't need the software-provided features.

Right now what's installed is the latest driver(driver only) from killer website. I've experienced some problems in the past like intermittent disconnecting while downloading at steam. I will try to revert back to the default driver from the box

Are you on 2.4GHz or 5GHz? Bluetooth runs at 2.4GHz so it may cause some interference.

Other than that the wifi card isn't that great on the GT73VR, though the nic is pretty decent, I have it running on full gigabit no problem.

i am using 2.4ghz since it has more signal in my room. if i use the 5ghz there's no problem, and yeah its because of the 2.4ghz same with the ds4 controller but when i used it on my old laptop it doesn't have a problem at all it doesn't slow down the internet unlike with my gt73vr
