hello guys I just purchased this laptop couple days ago with 7820hq and gtx1070 and 4K screen.
The laptop looks perfect and in very good condition.
My brother repaste my CPU and GPU .
Now I want to change my screen with the 120hz for gaming purposes...
Which model 120hz and manufacture I must choose?
I don’t have any idea mates.
    Please help.
And last thing how much worth the 4K if I sell it?
    Thank you very much

Hey I just bought a GT73VR 7RF that came with a 120hz screen. If you are interested , I can sell you mine since you want a 120hz screen. :)

I buy replacement screens at LaptopScreen.com and I've always had great luck with them. Check this link: https://www.laptopscreen.com/English/model/MSI/GT73VR 7RE TITAN/

I have the same laptop and have been considering the 4k screen. However I think I will sit on my 120hz HD for a while yet ... as I can change it out any time. You need to be sure you get the right pinout for your machine (30 or 40 pin header), or find an adapter. You could probably sell your screen for close to $100. XoticPC had the 4K screen upgrade option for $200, and Laptopscreen.com sells them for around $100 new.

Thank you for your help mate.
But how I would to know if it’s 30 or 40 pin connector?
    Thank you again

I'm actually not quite sure how to answer that. I've looked around a lot online and it seems that all 4k screen default to the 40 pin, but the only way to be sure is to open it up I guess. Unless someone else on here has done so.

Also, Laptopscreen.com has information on choosing the right screen, along with a good amount of info on 30 and 40 pin connectors AND adapters. Plus they encourage you to email them or call them with questions. They know quite a bit about the subject, as it's all they do.

Is there any chance the new 144hz be compatible with the gt73vr?

That's a good question. I would think so cause they already support 3 kinds (120hz HD, 2880x1620 [3K], and 4K 60hz.) The graphics cards will support 144hz if they are able to on a desktop. There are laptops with gtx 1060s running 144hz displays out there (Sager is one) so I would be surprised if it wouldn't work.

It definitely should be, its using the same connector. Hell, depending on the price I might upgrade mine as well.

Well, the colors might be better but I still think the 120hz screen looks good, specially after calibrating the panel or using MSI True Color for 100% SRGB. If anything, I miss the IPS viewing angles :p

I agree the HD panel is still a very good looking screen and the colors are probably the best you will get on an HD. The 120hz is really nice too (I keep telling myself this so i won't go out and buy the 4k screen lol)

Not to take away from the selling of a 4K screen, but I use my TVs as monitors and they look great, but personally couldn't use anything smaller than 50inch haha. It's just a huge amount of screen realstate and having to use DPI scaling defeats the purpose of 4K on such a small screen, IMO.

I love my TVs tho, but for computing, its a bit too much :p

I've thought the same thing about such a small screen and 4k. I've been mostly playing Dishonored 2 lately on my Titan but last night I went into Far Cry 5 and was blown away by the colors. It was better than my thousand dollar Samsung UltraWide Quantum Dot monitor on my desktop. I mean eye-bleed popping color and contrast that I just haven't been seeing (and I've finished FC 5 on my desktop so I've looked at it for many hours.)

I have noticed many people on here defend this panel as the best they have used on a laptop and I can see why. I know the density and sharpness won't match 4k, but I have also heard some say the colors on the 4k panel don't match the HD one. Apparently HDR is not implemented on the 4k screens yet? Anyway, I really enjoyed what I saw last night and I want to try more of my titles soon and see what they look like.

Tonight I will test it because I wasn’t there.
My brother take care of her yesterday and he sent me the pictures.
We see in a couple hours...
You think that with the MSI TRUE COLOR will be the colors better?

Compared to stock, yes, very much so. Stock colors are way too cool/blue and even lack a bit of pop. At least the SRGB profile looks better than stock. And there are many calibration files roaming around the forums too, I used one a long time ago which was similar to SRGB.

You can also customize in general how it looks so that you get the best quality for you.

I saw here that they have profile calibration for that screen.
Do I need the spyder elite program to install the profile or I can do it without it?
    Thanks man

Nah, you can obtain the .icm (I think this was the file extension) and then add the profile via windows (type color management in your search box) and you can click add, select the ICM file and then you are set.

Dang. I'm sitting here going on about my HD screen colors and I don't even have TrueColor installed lol. Sounds like I need to get it. The only MSI software i had on here when delivered is ecm and afterburner (I let XoticPC bump up my 1070.)

How easy are they to swap out? I've changed a few screens before on Dells and HPs but those were just friends school laptops.

This should help a lot. I had to rock 32gb with two 16's to get dual-channel on my order. It was the lowest dual-channel upgrade XoticPC offered.

So, 8 months later how are you liking your 120hz HD screen? I keep thinking about upgrading to 4k but then there are many people like you who have done the opposite. Are you satisfied with the change? Last night I was blown away again with the colors and performance of my HD panel when I played Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare. It was just magical and the immersion was great.
