    Hi all,

Just finished building a MSI-1651 barebone laptop. Have been searching all over and even on Ice-Tea website to see what type of mxm graphics card is compatibile. Right now im guessing mxmII. Right? Also what is the best graphics card for this or faster than the 9600gt graphics card that comes with it and where can i get it from? Yes I know other people posted about this but it didn't really help as the people's answer weren't specific enough. Im a noob, so can u please explain.

    Thanx. :)

the best MXM-II card is either the Nvidia 9650M GT
    or the ATI 46xx

but the difference between those mid-range cards to your 9600M GT is less than 5-7%

so it might not be worth it to "upgrade" the videocards.

if it were MXM-III or IV, then you would have so many more options and videocards that will outperform the MXM-II cards by over twice as much.

Ok. Do u think I could put a mxmIII card in it? I have read from a couple of threads saying that you can but no one ever confirmed it.

if you can open it up and show me a pic of the videocard module in there (and a pic of the slot for the videocard), I can tell you your chances. :)

but like I said, the 9600M GT is already one of the fastest you can go for MXM-II... the price difference to buy another videocard might not be worth it at all for the small gain in performance.
