Again, not happy that he keeps performing benchmarks with comments disabled (Or how hes getting machines so early at that.)
YouTube - Crysis Warhead on MSI MS-1727 (GX740) 17" ATI HD 5870 1GB GDDR3, Core i7 gaming notebook
The barebone model doing the same,
Frames seem slightly lowish to me though. -
-
The 5870 never came with GDDR3,
Thats an enthusiast level card, surely its GDDR5,
He gets constant frame performance though, and performance on the other games is solid. -

What do you think about the machine ben?
Definately going for a name mistake, GDDR3 would probably run at 4850 levels for certain. -

Oh, definitely going for the 740.
I just received a small gift from a friend in Spain, 100 Euro; brings up my budget to $1500 (-$100 shipping n crap), I'm gonna place an order for a cooler too...
But... its now in between the 740 and the BB G71... -

Crysis on the MS1272 is being executed @ gamer, and mainstream shadow and shaders...
While on the 'GX720' vid I posted, the guy's running everything @ Enthusiast settings with no AA...
20~25 fps for all enthusiast = NOT BAD AT FREAKING ALL.
-
It just seems slightly lower then i expect, i played crysis on very high the full way through with no AA, but my res is tiny so i haven't checked 1680x1050 yet, mind you extra frames could creep up from having a quad core mind you,
Its defo not bad, mind you if its stock MSI drivers then they'l be a big bump on frames with new drivers, -
This seems about right, if the performance for mobility 5870 is similar to a 5750/5770 desktop the reviews on multiple websites seem to be very closely related for crysis warhead fps amount.
1680x1050 2x AA enthuiast: 5750: 17fps, 5770: 20 fps
Even though this is without AA I'm guessing 2X AA only makes a few fps difference.
Bear in mind the desktop i7 920 is a lot better than a 720qm. -
I think a bit more then a few, remember its running full screen passes when using AA.
