    Sorry for my bad english.

When i select AHCI in BIOS the disk is not detected. The disk is detected with SATA selected. Any custom BIOS fix this?

When AHCI is enabled in BIOS the disk is not detected by the computer at all. When ATA is selected in BIOS the disk is detected and i can install Windows.

    Confirmed problem, mentioned here:
Samsung 830 SSD not seen in bios on ahci, can see it everywhere else - ssd - Storage

Possibly solved by new firmware (click the firmware tab):
Support - Solid State Drives MZ-7PC128N | Samsung Memory & Storage

    Yehaw!!

To all X7811 or GX740 users (maybe GX660 Users too)
Buy a Harddrive caddy for your Notebook, replace your dvd rom with it and VOILA!! It works in AHCI, you can boot from it, and everything!

Wouldn't the issue be though that the DVD connections are only SATA II and not SATA III?

AIDA64 says that it's actually connected through SATA II (image)
    and AS SSD too
