    GX720 lcd advise

    Hi guys, im looking for some advise on upgrading my lcd.
    currantly i have a 17" 1440*900 and want to ugrade to a 1920*1200
    the pt# i have now is
    SAMSUNG LTN1700BT08-G01 (1 CCFL)

    heres the one I think might be a good upgrade
    SAMSUNG LTN170CT02-001 (1 CCFL)

    I`ve been doing some reading and there is nothing writen in stone as for model numbers(not that i found)

    any input would be a help

    In my gx720 barebone i have the samsung SAMSUNG LTN170CT02-001 (1 CCFL) type you mentioned. It's a non glare lcd 1920*1200. The brightness of this sreeen is a bit low and as some users complain it can have much of bleeding. Mine has also bleeding a bit to much at the whole bottom of the screen above the msi logo. If you have a glare type now and it has good contrast i should change nothing. Greetings out of the netherlands. Henk.

    hvkduke was that a new lcd? would it make it better if iit had a 2 ccfl?
    just wanna make sure before i buy.
    this bleeding, is it kind like outta focus a little

    yes my lcd is new. the bleeding is in my case annoying when i'm looking video, the black is'n black and gives a grey band above the logo.

    There is LG screen which is much better than Samsung ones. The problem is that is stupid Glossy, which I hate.

    Im just debating on gloss or matte
    (maybe i`ll get 1 of each) lol
    I guess gloss isnt too bad, thats what i have now.
    but i have matte for my desktop, and thats nice.
