Hey everybody, was hoping I might be able to get some help here, I posted this in the GX660 owners lounge, but didn't get much of a response, and hope I might be able to reach a wider audience here.
A little while ago a capacitor on the my GX660R-060US gpu broke, shorting the board and also the power supply. After replacing the gpu with another 5870m from ebay and getting another power supply, everything works again except for the audio.
It doesn't play anything over the speakers and doesn't recognize anything when it is plugged in to the headphone jack or other jacks. The one exception is is does recognize the laptop speakers, but nothing gets played over them.
I've tried reinstalling the video drivers and realtek audio drivers from the realtek site to no success. I also quickly tried a live cd of ubuntu 11.10 and that produced nothing as well, but I never tried it before I had the problem, so it still doesn't confirm a hardware problem for me.
Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem, or hopefully a solution?
Thanks in advance.

Maybe you should stop being a hardcore notebook enthusiast and just get a GT60 or GT70. ;p
