    Hi guys,

I've been looking everywhere for this info, but haven't managed to find a single clue.
I have the opportunity of trading in my current 7970m for a GTX-680m and even keeping some cash on the side, however I'd like to know if any GX660 / 16F1 user has already tried this.
Investing in such an expensive card is a really big expenditure for me and having it not work would be a disaster.

    Any advice?

If it runs into the same issues as the 16F2 then no it won't work and I get the feeling it probably would.

The best way to get a black or white answer would probably be to contact MSI technical support. Their support team is pretty good and they should know - or be able to easily find out - if the laptop will take the card.

Why? Because they don't work with the 16f2.

Well, I think technically you can take a GeForce and fine-tune it to perform nearly or on par with a Quadro card - you just need different firmware, change some resistor jumpers and some resoldering skills. ;)

Not sure if the k5000m is akin to the 680m though.

The core is the same as the 680M at a slightly lower frequency and the memory is clocked the same as the 580M a meager 750mhz or 3000mhz qdr vs the 900mhz (3600mhz qdr) of the 680M and 1250mhz (5000mhz qdr) of the 680MX.
