My GX640 can not get power through to it. It is outside of its warranty so I am reluctant to send back for repair unless absolutely necessary. What happens is the power lead works okay but there is some sort of problem at the point where the power lead connects with the notebook. Originally it was an intermittant issue - I would notice that no power was getting through and the notebook was running on its battery so I tweaked the lead slightly and everything was okay. Then it got gradually worse; eventually I had to set the lead up in all sorts of unusual positions so that power got through to charge the battery. Eventually even that stopped working and now the notebook simply has no juice in its battery to power up. The power lead still lights up when it is plugged in so I do not suspect a fault there and I have bought replacement power leads on the internet with exactly the same results.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Is there any way I can charge up the battery without it being connected to the notebook?

    Thanks in advance!
